Inverness Caley Football Club

A local Campaign Action Group in Inverness, The Cheshire House Musketeers, worked with Inverness Football Club to have the area for the disabled fans raised to that they could have a better view while at the football ground.

The campaign group first did alot of research to find out what the problem was and how it could be solved.  They found out that the Inverness Football Club had received many complaints from wheelchair users because the new barrier was too high for them to see over.  It had been a problem for about 2 years.  The campaign group's members, also had personal experience of attending matches and finding their view was blocked by the barrier.  The group worked with the football club's management and helped to draw up plans and diagrams for a new viewing platform that was more accessible and provided a better view of the pitch.

The group's campaign efforts led to them winning Leonard Cheshire Disability's Campaign Service of the Year Award 2009.
