Advice on taking photos for your survey
Adding a photo or two is a great way to illustrate the results of your survey.
Before you take any photos have a quick read of this information so you know the right way to take them.
- In general, if you are on private property, eg inside a shop, entering a museum etc, then you should ask permission from a member of staff and explain why you are taking photos. If they say no don't take a photo from inside.
- One way to get around this, is to take the photos from a public road. Companies can't stop you from taking photos if you are taking it from a public place. Try to get one without member of the public in it. Don't worry if you can't we can edit them to make sure they are not recognizable.
- Some venues ban photography as a condition of entry, eg many museums, art galleries, football grounds, concert venues etc. So please be mindful of the rules of individual venues.
