Mobilise for DLA

In the Spending Review last year, the Government announced that they are going to stop paying Disability Living Allowance (DLA) mobility component to disabled people living in residential care. Read all about our campaign to stop these cuts.

This change, which will start October 2012, will mean that thousands of disabled people will no longer have the money to pay for things like a powered wheelchair, accessible taxis or a Motability car and this will leave many people trapped at home.

Leonard Cheshire Disability, Mencap, Sense and others have produced a report responding to the Government's reasons for this cut. Don't limit mobility shows that people's mobility needs are not met by local authority funding and that removing DLA mobility from people in local authority funded care would not result in a more equal system.

We need your support to help fight this cut:

  • E-mail your MP and call on them to keep DLA mobility for people living in residential care.
  • Fill in our survey to help us show the Government the impact this cut will have.
  • Sign our petition calling on the Government to keep DLA Mobility for people living in residential care.
