Meet the CAGs

Action for Access was inspired by the work of Campaigns Action Groups (CAGs) across the UK tackling issues of inaccessibility in their local area. Click on the title to find out more.

"CAGs are groups of disabled people who come together to campaign on local issues," explains James Harding, Local Campaigns Officer for Leonard Cheshire Disability.

"The groups run campaigns on all sorts of things, from government funding cuts to improving road safety, but access is definitely the main issue."

Many of the CAGs are now filling out Action for Access survey forms and James thinks the campaign is making a big difference: "The Action for Access campaign has helped provide a lot of CAGs with the resources to take their campaigning forward, and we are starting to see some really positive results".

Check out the latest edition of the CAG newsletter below, On The Move, to find out what some of the groups have been up to.
